Rosalind Galt, ‘Tales of Entrails: Animist Cult Horror in Southeast Asia’
21 May, 2026

Rosalind Galt’s chapter ‘Tales of Entrails: Animist Cult Horror in Southeast Asia’ has been published in Global Cult Cinemas: Decolonizing Cult Film Studies (Bloomsbury, 2026), edited by Iain Robert Smith, Dolores Tierney, and Shruti Narayanswamy.

The book focuses on the production and reception of cult cinema outside of Anglophone cinema, with a particular focus on the Global South, and aims to critique the Eurocentric assumptions that lie at the heart of much existing cult film scholarship.
