Global Circulations of Film Theory Course: Decolonising Film Theory Through Asian Cinema

Events at BFI Southbank for a series of workshops that will explore questions of decolonising film theory through Asian cinema:

Victor Fan, from King’s College London (6 Feb), will focus on methods originating from Asia; Manishita Dass, from Royal Holloway (13 Feb), will address the work of radical Indian filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak; and Chris Berry, from King’s College London, along with guest panellists, London-based Chinese documentary filmmaker Peng Wenlan and Kiki Tianqi Yu of Queen Mary University London (20 Feb), will explore questions of truth and public revelation in Chinese documentary.
